FAQ
Is this medical advice?
No. This starter pack is an educational guide and organization tool. It does not diagnose allergy, prescribe treatment, or replace advice from your clinician.
Can I use this without speaking to a clinician?
No. Milk ladder use depends on your child’s history, symptoms, allergy type, risk level, and wider medical situation.
Who is the Indian Milk Ladder for?
Milk ladders are commonly used for clinician-guided cow’s milk reintroduction, especially in children with mild-to-moderate non-IgE cow’s milk allergy. Your clinician should confirm whether this approach is appropriate for your child.
What makes this different from a standard milk ladder?
Standard milk ladder examples often use Western foods. This pack is based on the published Indian Milk Ladder, which uses Indian foods and includes cooked milk protein data from the source paper.
Can I swap ingredients?
Do not casually swap ingredients, cooking methods, cooking times, milk quantities, or portion sizes. Changes can alter what your child is being exposed to.
Can grandparents or nursery use this?
They can use the caregiver handout if you and your clinician agree another caregiver should be involved. They should only give the exact food and amount written by the parent or guardian.
